Coaches and Managers Wanted!

Volunteer head coaches, assistant coaches, and team managers are always welcome. Interested volunteers should attend the proper coaches and managers meeting listed below.

All coaches must wear a USA Hockey-approved helmet (HECC) while on the ice. Coaches must provide their own helmets

Coaches' AND Managers USA Hockey Registration
All coaches and Managers must register with USA Hockey. The coaches' fee is $45 while managers are no charge. Managers should wait until they are selected as a team manager before registering with USA Hockey.

Coaches' Training Seminars
All coaches must have their proper USA Hockey Level certification. At the present time there are two Level 1 seminars scheduled in Pittsburgh on Saturday, August 20 or Sunday, August 21 at the Pgh Marriott by the Consol Energy Center. Seminars can be found on the USA Hockey web site at usahockey.com. Level 2 and 3 seminars can also be found on the web site.

All new coaches begin with the Level 1 certification. Included in this certification is an online age-specific training module specific to the level of play for your child.

Mite coaches only need to complete their Level 1 training.

Coaches at the Squirt, Pee Wee, Bantam and 16 & U levels must continue their education by moving up one level per year until they reach level 3.

Coaches and managers Background Check
All coaches and managers must take part in the USA Hockey Background check program. People who have done so in the past, your check is good for two years. New people and those who re-new their background check will be good for two years. Managers should wait until they are confirmed as a manager before registering with USA Hockey.
