Biography

Blaine Buterbaugh has been with the Island Sports Center since 2001 where he currently he serves as Assistant Hockey Director / Director of Camps and Clinics. In this role Buterbaugh helps oversee various youth hockey programs such as The Island Colonials Youth House League, In-Season Clinics, Pre-Season Tryout Clinics, Summer Hockey Camps and Private Instruction.

In addition to his coaching duties at RMU-ISC, Buterbaugh has pretty extensive coaching background including positions with:
  • Pittsburgh Penguins Elite – Tier 1 AAA Assistant Coach, (2012-current)
  • RMU Women’s Ice Hockey – NCAA D1, Assistant Coach, (2005-2010)
  • Keystone State Games – West Region, Assistant Coach, (2012-current)

Buterbaugh earned a masters level certification, (level 5) through USA Hockey, (2009 & 2014) and has since gone on to be part of the Coaching Certification Program, (CEP) as a speaker for USA Hockey.
